Inauguration Of GOLDEN ELEPHANT

Its today……. International children's film festival which is GOLDEN ELEPHANT has started in Hyderabad. Its the 18th anniversary  which will go on till November 20 will mostly showcase Indian films. The festival was inaugurated at the Telugu Lalitha Kala Toranam at Public Gardens hoping that the festival will rise the enthusiasm of every child all around..

Out of 203 films that will be screened, more than 84 films are Indian productions. About 48 country  films  have been considered for the festival. Interpreted goal, the Czech Republic, which is the country 'in focus' for the festival has only 11 films for screening while India has more entries.

Children will be watching films from Japan, Austria, The Netherlands, Cuba, Iran, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Germany, Israel, Poland, Latvia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Columbia, France, South Korea, Peru, South Africa, France, Sweden, Afghanistan, Russia, Tunisia, Republic of Belarus, Australia, Germany, Norway, Chile, Spain, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Denmark, China, Pakistan, Thailand, Poland, Scotland, Latvia, Greenland, Finland, New Zealand, Croatia, Slovenia, China, Poland, Afghanistan, Morocco, Indonesia, UK, Taiwan and Canada. 

The 20-member committee  for the four different sections in the festival has six Indians, including three from Hyderabad, namely, director P Suneel Kumar Reddy, director N Gopala Krishna, and M Veda Kumar of Children's Film Society.

While the delegates for the film festival will watch the screenings at Prasads Imax and  children can watch the films only in selected theatres in the Hyderabad.
The film festival is being organised by Children’s Film festival of India (CFSI).CFSI is the autonomous body under the ministry of information and broadcasting with the collaboration of government of Andhra Pradesh. The ministry has allotted Rs 3.35 crore for the entire festival, while the state government is expected to contribute an equivalent contribution as well.  

Talking about the aim of the festival ,Dr. Shravan Kumar said, "The 18th Golden Elephant which  is a collaborative effort between CFSI and autonomous body of the Minisry of braodcasting and information.Ministry aims to promote the fundamental values of healthy and wholesome entertainment for children by bringing the best films from all diverse cultural backgrounds.
Representing film package of festival around 200 fims, Salman Khan gave his best wishes to the children's film festival and spoke about film experiences in his life.

And at last its has been observed that, even Hyderabad is the permanent venue of the film festival for every 2years, there is no Telugu film in the list of screenings yet.
